Located in Arkhangai Province, the Chuluut River 415 kilometers long and covers 10,750 square km.
This river pours from the tallest point in the Khangain Mountains, so it one of the fastest flowing mountain rivers. Additionally, its valley is narrow with lots of rocks, and the lower its alititude, the wider it becomes.
Its falls are than 100 km tall and 60 meters of thick thick basalt rock have been cut by the Teel River’s flow, leading to peaceful outlets like Artsat’s brooks and ponds.
The Chuluut River owes its power to the convergence of mountain water from the east and Terkh Tsagaan Lake. When these sources combine, the river gains momentum and reaches impressive depths of up to 80 meters. Although the average depth stands at 2.5 meters, the river maintains a steady flow of 1 meter per second. Moreover, the steep nature of the river’s descent is comparable to a towering structure of nine stories, lending it an awe-inspiring quality. Initially, the river’s current appears tranquil, but upon reaching the dean, it takes on the appearance of a stone flow, creating a captivating visual spectacle.
